THE ART OF VIRTUAL CONNECTION
What’s Special about These Workshops?
Any one can search for virtual sites online, but few trainers have the virtual experience of Dr. Mary Jo.
She will guide you to real connection by sharing her insights from 15 years of virtual teaching, including twice daily zooms with teens after her Common Ground Teen Center closed in March due to COVID-19.
She and her team of adult, peer educator (teens 15 - 18) and junior peer educator (12 - 14) facilitators created 9 Virtual Summer Camps in response to physical isolation and quarantine, reaching nearly 190 young people.
Dr. Mary Jo teaches adults as well, offering virtual sessions for professional training and webinars, chats, and weekly interactive sessions for as few as 5 participants in a personalized setting and over 100 participants at a large conference.
Since the pandemic, she created and hosted a Virtual Senior Recognition, Virtual Prom, Virtual Art Night and Virtual Award Night for her community. Her philosophy of setting the stage for learning with respect and her interactive approach to teaching easily translate to a virtual setting.
These workshops focus on the “art” of engaging students virtually. Information on Zoom will be presented, but the primary focus is HOW to connect and retain students who are happy to return to class.
Workshop fees are non-refundable. If it is not fiscally possible to cover the costs, please connect with Dr. Mary Jo at podmj@healthyteens.com. All proceeds go to the Common Ground Teen Center she directs.
